Our main idea was to give an impression of our associations in connection with the Mercedes identity. The key words of the exhibition are space, movement and light; our project is based on a research work keeping in mind this main direction. We found interesting analogues between the working method, the "tape design" and the brand values. Tape gives an association of ribbon which can symbolize elegance, continuity, beauty as well as streamlines, tracks, roads ...etc. Watching rhythmic gymnastics ribbon exercise inspired us to connect it with the dichotomies of power and elegance which is one of the main values of Mercedes-Benz. It also involves spottiness and and art just like the designed nature of this movement. That is why this tape-ribbon plays the main role in our concept.

The tape also means the connection between the design and the prototype, the ideas and the reality; our installation aims to reflect to this triade. The functions slip into each other, just like the installation and the surrounding, which connects reality and the virtual space. (eg. projection)

The "hard" part of the functions as a stand for the models and the placards. It's Purpose is to become a base and a background to all of the exhibits. It's designed to fit the needs of each installation. The hard ribbons are able to hold posters, models and prototypes just as actual cars. The cast-iron strips are decisive part of the installation, besides this gives space to the virtual content, the ribbons are also good for projections, which makes it possible for the hard part of the installation to become virtually dynamic. This is the symbol of technology.

The installations "soft" part is technologically the most developed. The always changing art work has two analog parts which moves independently from their surroundings. A digital system makes it possible to react to the environment. The kinetic sculpture has two modes: kinetically moving waves and spinning ribbons. The line of the ribbons are attached to a motor in the manual system. The digital variation needs individual motors to each ribbon, this expands the expenses but also makes the installation more dynamic.

The projects middle part is the transient zone, where the installation starts to release, but it still provides function, it is not totally autonomous. The part in between demonstrates the combination of time and space. It appears in the parts of building where the events take place. The transient installation gives space to the opening ceremony, and the arrival are illustrating the variation of the system and holding useful information: the transient zone can be also used as a virtual surface. The projection has a dual function: at the moment of arrival it provides information about the exhibition and the event space, it also can be used fir the conferences and presentations.

The installation is an organically developing system. According to this the expenses are adaptable.
